Air and hydraulic lime renders. Living whiteness, breathability, and health for the habitat. Artisanal application.
Lime renders are not merely a finish, but a living construction system that enables gaseous exchange between interior and exterior. Unlike plastic paints that seal the pores, our coatings made from aerial lime and selected aggregates act as a natural lung, hardening through carbonation to return to their original limestone state.
At Alqatifa, we work with aged lime putties (resting for months or years) and selected aggregates (marble, silica). This traditional formulation guarantees that, during the carbonation process, the coating returns to its original limestone state, acquiring hardness and resistance over the years.
Our finishes range from fire-ironed stucco, shiny and smooth, to matte and rough textures that evoke vernacular Mediterranean architecture.
Allows walls to 'breathe', preventing condensation and interstitial dampness, essential for the health of the building.
The alkaline pH of lime naturally prevents the proliferation of mold, fungi, and bacteria, creating hygienic environments.
Lime mortar hardens over time by absorbing CO2 from the environment, closing its natural cycle and becoming more resistant.
Its crystalline structure reflects light in a unique way, creating luminous spaces with a special visual vibration.
Absorbs excess ambient moisture and releases it when the air is dry, passively regulating the indoor climate.
Mineral material classified as fireproof, does not contribute to fire nor emit toxic gases in case of fire.
