Original Tadelakt from Marrakech. Waterproof and continuous lime coating burnished with stone for bathrooms, showers, and sinks.
Tadelakt is an ancient continuous coating technique from Marrakech, originally used to waterproof surfaces using natural methods. Its execution involves meticulously burnishing lime with a semi-precious stone and saturating it with black soap, generating a chemical reaction (stearates) that creates a water-repellent, silky, and deeply aesthetic skin.
We use our own formulation with aged lime paste, adapted to each type of substrate. The process is slow and laborious: after applying the lime, it is meticulously burnished with an agate stone while saturated with black olive soap (potassium soap). We finally protect it with natural waxes.
No two finishes are alike; each square meter bears the imprint of the craftsman’s hand movement.
The burnishing technique with black soap creates a water-repellent surface perfect for integrated showers, bathtubs, and sinks.
Its finish is not cold like tile; it has a warmth and softness to the touch reminiscent of skin or stone polished by water.
Allows coating curved and organic forms without joints, understanding the bathroom space as a continuous sculpted piece.
Ideal for wet areas, the natural alkalinity of lime prevents the growth of mold and bacteria.
Like stone, it acquires patina and beauty over time. It is an eternal material if maintained correctly with natural soap.
